Except he said he had a problem, as in addiction, which is a disease that is painful and something he had to struggle with. You don’t know what he was going through. The fact that you couldn’t even tell he was drunk during the films shows how good of an actor he is and how dumb this “confession” is. As someone with a family history of alcoholism, it isn’t their fault. It is a disease. It isn’t disrespectful to his fans.
It is not like he went out partying and getting wasted then going to work the next day and half-assing everything. He was always (as far as I know) professional and was able to get over his addiction.
You should be applauding him for overcoming the disease instead of pushing him down for it.
